It’s been over a year since my last news update. Sorry about that. I've been writing this post again and again for a long time now but always left it into drafts. Now I decided to narrow it down and focus only on the newest work on this one. I will write about other stuff later.
The last year was a real rough one with losses and unforeseen difficulties. However, I’ve made a concerted effort to actively respond to all your questions and concerns. Despite these setbacks, many things have progressed behind the scenes. And now I finally have some real news to share with you. This settlement is not dead yet.
HOBO'S LEGENDARY SETTLEMENT BOOK II™ IS FINISHED NOW!!

Yes, you read it right! It took full 18 months(!!!) of tireless work of creating and filing the perfect item for your game. And man I really, really love this book now — and in some parts it actually exceeded my highest expectations!
The first batch of books is now printed and hand-numbered. They’re laminated already, and moving on to cutting and final crafting next.
There is still a lot of work left before we can relax, but I'm doing my best to get them to your hands as soon as possible. Also the first Patron Card Packs are laminated already.
This new book really is my best work for Kingdom Death: Monster so far. My sincerest thank you to all of you who has shown their trust by supporting all stages of this project by placing orders. For the first ones of you it was a real Leap of Faith, but I'm confident it really was worth it.
Hobo’s Settlement Population Record: A Complete Redesign!

Forget all those old prototype photos you've seen of this book (or currently on the product page haha). To be honest, I never was happy with it when I was trying to fit in as much survivors as possible. It's not about quantity, it's about quality.
As with the Settlement Book, here I want to thank you all who trusted my vision and passion and pre-ordered a copy by only seeing those rough prototypes as they were.
My goal has always been to offer only items that I would genuinely enjoy to use myself. So, one day I grabbed my tools and overhauled the Population Record's design from the scratch. It was like starting over from a blank page.
Now the book is enjoyable and easy to use. As KDM players we don't need records for over a hundred survivors during a campaign. We need clarity and thought-through user experience to make the endless bookkeeping a bit more satisfying.
Today’s Population Record is beautiful, and, most importantly, a useful way to keep a record. These two books are destined to work together throughout all your campaigns.
For everyone who has pre-ordered the Settlement Book, I truly recommend to order a copy of this one too. These books are perfect together.

Revised Card Packs v2

In addition to new books, I have also revised all BGH Card Packs and independent promo cards. Now all cards Board Game Hell has released to date has found their final look and design. They look better and more coherent now.
New Concepts
There was also some content tweaks where needed. This means that some packs are redesigned using brand new BGH concepts, like Milestone Settlement Events and Milestone Encounters with some extra card(s), while others are just revised to be more clear and streamlined.
As you can see on the photo, I realised there was a quite amount of these custom fan-made cards already! And I still have few ideas for future releases. Some of them are still concepts and prototypes, but could be a real thing some day if I'll find them interesting enough during playtesting. With your support, they may see daylight eventually.
These fan-made game contents are designed to be low-impact and shouldn't disrupt your game balance when included. If they do have some real impact they’re certainly not easy or cheap to obtain. While many of them are quite interesting addition, they all will add new options to find your own ways to play.
With the new design these cards will also identify more as BGH work instead of Kingdom Death's official stuff (which are superb, as always, I just want to pop up a bit more with my own work).

Everyone who pre-ordered original card packs like Death Kimono Card Pack, will receive a revised v2 edition automatically with no extra costs.
Huntsman's Journal and Trophy Book will most likely include the original cards, as they are already packed and waiting for shipping. There was no content changes on these, just minor design ones on their backside.
